Description

PFERD offers a wide selection of coated abrasive tools for working on different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a base, a base bond and a coating bond for the abrasive grain to adhere to. Depending on the grit size, coated abrasive tools can achieve a high stock removal rate or a very fine surface finish.

The available backing materials differ in properties such as tear strength, flexibility and wear. With the right base, the grinding tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: paper is used in the woodworking industry and in trade, e.g. among carpenters, painters and decorators, cloth is predominantly used for metalwork, and vulcanized fibre is highly wear-resistant and is used in various thicknesses predominantly for making fibre discs.

The set contains fibre discs suitable for a selection of different applications, designed for aggressive grinding with maximum stock removal rate on hard materials which do not conduct heat well. Consistently high performance due to self-sharpening ceramic oxide grain. Active grinding additives in the coating substantially improve the stock removal rate, prevent clogging and result in cooler grinding.

Advantages
  • High economic efficiency thanks to long tool life and very high stock removal rate.
  • Consistent surface finish thanks to high-quality abrasives.
  • Highly flexible, enabling optimal adjustment to the contour.
  • For getting to know and testing the comprehensive range.
  • Coordinated selection of the most common versions.
Recommendations for use
  • Use fibre disc in accordance with ISO 15636 with backing pad on commercially available angle grinders.
  • Use grinding oil that is suitable for the material in order to significantly increase the tool life and the abrasive performance of the tools.
Safety notes
  • The maximum permitted peripheral speed is 80 m/s.
  • For safety reasons, the maximum permitted rotational speed indicated must never be exceeded.
